Diana Nitreanu defined an eclectic palette of Rain forest green marble, pastel velvets, blue mdf, walls coated in plaster with discreet gold inlays and dark oak finishes, to help shape an imaginative modernist dialogue that reflects the client’s needs in the redesign of this weekend get-away residence.
The eye makes first contact with the hallway area, so the architect believes that first impressions count. The entryway sets the mood and tone for the entire home, so rather than playing it safe, Diana Nitreanu created a vibrant and welcoming space that reflects the client’s taste, while giving a hint of the style from the rest of the house.
This contemporary open-plan living space embraces an eclectic look. The marble tv-unit paneling is a nod to the Art Deco setting, while a mix of minimalist and classic pieces blend with contemporary designs including the sofa. The idea was to create a relaxing living room environment by choosing furniture with clean lines to allow light to circulate around the room.
Small details. Big difference.
Particularly in an open-concept home, the dining area can be challenging in order to ensure a private and intimate setting without sacrificing style. To get this result, the architect made sure that is a statement and leaves a lasting impression, but it should also evoke conversation and represent the personality and lifestyle of the homeowner, while ensuring the space is well designed.
Bringing family together.
Diana Nitreanu handles effective kitchen design as a process of combining layout, surfaces, appliances and design details to form a cooking space that’s easy to use and fun to cook and socialize in. Kitchen is the hub of the home. With today’s fast paced lifestyle most of us get back home after a long day looking for a place of calm. This has increased the demand for better kitchen designs to incorporate the need for efficiency while making them feel relaxed. For many of us it’s the kitchen rather than the living room which acts as the real family meeting area and so it’s important that the design of this room is shown as much thought and consideration as the rest of the house.
Master bedroom design. A contemporary bedroom that provides plenty of opportunities to spice up the decor with touches of personality. This bedroom features a beautiful custom upholstered head & footboard playing with a pastel pallete. The large window makes the best of the space. That sunlight beaming in and bouncing off of those bright walls brings all of the natural lighting that the space could ever need.
The architect always uses tricks for designing a teen room that kids will not outgrow within a few years. The secret is to create something that feels both youthful and grown-up. Functional features combined with fun colors or patterns are one way to get the job done.
