Diana Nitreanu’s signature blend of layers and materials is infused with muted elegance. This project is a client’s personal sanctuary from Bucharest’s old center craziness. The mood in this home design is intensely personal. The overall message of this aesthetic: how the architect facilitated that the client will show his authentic self in his home, to have fun with color and texture and embrace prints and patterns, while letting a mix of styles run free.
The project brings designs from the ‘20s, ’70s and ’80s, where the architect love for mixing modern and postmodern designs with contemporary finds is vivid. The idea is to go with the style or styles that spoke to the client, while maintaining the architect’s creative fingerprint.
The architect wanted to keep everything really minimal, kind of fresh and Parisian-inspired, so she did a lot of creams, blue accents and played around with texture, linen, velvet, wood and brass. The final outcome is timeless and sustainable, a type of space that is also a perfect example of beautiful utility.
