Sâmârcaşi project is a terraced house model, consisting of 3 duplex units, for three families. The importance of thinking a different and specific design for each of them, while preserving the unity of the architectural composition, was the main necessity. From the architectural style point of view, the clients, two sisters and their parents, desired a classic look with modern interiors.
Concept and execution. The house on a wooden structure is a duplex house project, two modules with the ground floor + first floor height regime, being arranged in the extremities of the third module which takes place in the middle only on the ground floor area.
The two apartments of the two sisters are mirrored and have a living area on the ground floor that includes the kitchen, living room and dining area. Upstairs is the night area, each apartment comprising two bedrooms with a bathroom in the hallway and a master bedroom with its own bathroom and generous dressing room.
The parents’ apartment, which is located between the two apartments, includes a bedroom, a bathroom and an open space with a living room, kitchen and dining area. All three apartments have separate entrances and all living areas face the back garden, where family members can gather on a common terrace, offering the desired privacy.
The front of the house, facing the street, has a more subtle appearance with small dimensions of the secondary functions (bathrooms, dressing rooms, hallways), unlike the back, where both the living area and the bedrooms located at 1st floor, the architect proposed to the outside large windows throughout the entire level height, which ensure a lot of light.
